Release #1 (2024) is a series of five photographs which explore social issues and word play in a bold and whimsical world. Expanding on key themes of HAHA or fuck you, the works engage with issues of mental health and womanhood. In this series, we see a playful reference to the pressure put on female bodies from outside observers who have never inhabited the female form, as well as the external versus internal mental battle that can exist in all of us. Project Photography also adopts a unique perspective when it comes to dissecting language - allowing the mind to roam to weird and wonderful places as it’s taken either too literally or in a completely different direction to its intended use.
